This is the week that I've fallen deeply in love with my sweet new baby. The past couple of weeks have been ruled by a primal mothering instinct. The love has been there but the bonding has been slower to come.
This week we've had fewer visitors, Josie's been in preschool, and Josh and I have had to manage our house as the sole grownups. Our grandparent buffers have flown the coop. It's been awesome and really hard simultaneously. Our days have swung wildly between domestic bliss and total frustration and we're all a teensy bit crazy right now.
What this means is that we've really been able to integrate our baby into the reality of our family. Trial by fire, if you will.
