I've been using the words "nourished mama" A TON lately. I'm moderately obsessed with it (and only slightly more obsessed with actually being "the original nourished mama"). It's just so freakin' important! If mama's not happy then no one's happy, you know....
Honestly, that's a bit of a shitty saying but there is some truth to it. Motherhood is a very big job and it's a very big deal. Our culture expects mothers to hit the ground running and keep it up until they've hit a wall and have to deal with massive exhaustion. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY!. And the best approach, in my experience, is to set the standard right out of the gate. How can you find maximum nourishment, mama? What makes you feel full and alive? What thought patterns can help you find steadiness and ease? What foods will support you through the day? How can you fill your cup BEFORE giving it away? These are the questions that fuel the work that I do. It's my life's work to take care of people and teach them to better care for themselves. So if you are a mama already, an expecting mama, or even know a mama, allow the focus to shift toward your (or her) health, satisfaction, and nourishment. Delicious colorful food, loving touch, kind thoughts, and a body that is in synch with the mind and soul will nourish mamas. And when mama's happy and healthy, she will naturally work to make everyone else happy and healthy too.
